By placing the solar garden light in the sun during the day, you can insure that your garden will be lit up at night.

How Long Do Solar Lights Last At Night?

The duration of the solar light at night will depend upon a few factors. The first is how bright the light is. If the solar light is extremely bright (like solar flood lights), then your light will not last as long as a solar light that is dimmer. This is why this type of solar lighting is typically connected to a motion sensor so that it only comes on when needed. A timer could also be employed so that in the first hour or so after dusk (when it is still somewhat light out) the lights don’t come on. This can help save the light.

The second factor determining how long outdoor solar lighting lasts during the night is how much sunlight they receive during the day. If your solar lights are placed in a shady area or it is overcast during the day, the solar cells will not store much in the way of energy. This will cause your solar light to not last throughout the night.

Because they do not emit greenhouse gases, or draw electricity from the power grid that is powered by coal burning power plants, solar lights are the eco-friendly option for those who want to go green but still want light up their landscape.

Since your solar lights do not run up your power bill, they will cost you exactly nothing when it comes to your power bill. So outside of the initial purchase price of your solar lighting, it will cost you nothing going forward.
